Raytheon Solipsys, located in Fulton, MD is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Raytheon Technologies (RTX) within the Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) Business Unit specializing in the development of U.S. Air Force and U.S. Marine Corps command and control software systems and operates in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced business environment with both commercial and Government customers, including a mix of domestic and international pursuits and programs.

Position Summary:

We are searching for an enthusiastic, talented professional System and Network administrator with both Unix/Linux and Windows system administration and network administration experience as we expand our internal IT team to support our corporate infrastructure and various lab environments.

In this role, you will assist in implementation and integration of IT solutions and infrastructure deployments that enhance resiliency and availability of critical services and maintenance of existing technologies deployed throughout the enterprise; building and patching systems; troubleshooting program lab environments; hardening systems per cyber compliance requirements. Additionally, performing network administration by building and deploying new networks, and refining and/or providing troubleshooting expertise to diagnose issues that may present itself within lab environments.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are critical to convey information in a tactful manner and at the technical proficiency of the audience and keeping up to date with current technology trends and future innovations.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Windows and Linux system administration of corporate and lab/program related systems
  • Basic network administration, VLAN creation, switch upgrades
  • Coordination of change management requests related to assigned systems
  • System hardening/auditing against industry baselines such as CIS, DISA STIGs, NIST, etc.
  • Staying up to date with current technology innovations
  • Lift up to 25lbs
  • Work onsite in office as needed in Fulton, MD

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelors degree in STEM and 4 years of professional Unix/Linux and Windows administrative experience in an enterprise domain environment or an Advanced degree with 3 years of professional Unix/Linus and Windows administrative experience.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies including vSphere, KVM, or Hyper-V
  • Experience with networking concepts, OSI model, TCP/IP troubleshooting, and VLANs
  • Experience with basic cybersecurity concepts and vulnerability management
  • Experience with hardening per NISPOM, RMF, DISA STIGs, NIST 800-171, etc
  • Experience with multi-factor authentication system administration (tokens, smart cards, etc)
  • Security+ Certification
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:

  • Communicate well in oral and written form
  • Familiarity with Container technologies, DevOps concepts, and/or software development experience
  • Proficiency in scripting via bash and/or Powershell
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Redhat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA), VMWare VCP, or other industry relevant certifications
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
