Sierra Space—based in Louisville, CO with operations in Madison, WI, Durham, NC, Huntsville, AL, Houston, TX, and Kennedy Space Center, FL—designs and manufactures the Dream Chaser spaceplane and other advanced spacecraft, commercial space destinations, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers, and international organizations.

As a Systems Engineer you will be using your skills and expertise to help research, architect, design, model, test, and certify flight software products. In this role you will be directly responsible for designing vehicle automation and fault management, assisting in implementation, simulation, and test, verifying requirements, managing flight software data, and creating and improving processes.
Must-haves:

Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 3 or more years of relevant experience

Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
-
Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
-
Knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
Preferred:
-
Knowledge of industry standard aerospace and system design principles
-
Experience with spacecraft systems, fault management (FDIR), automation, requirements management, test development, configuration management, and peer reviews
-
Experience with system modeling and data analysis tools
-
Experience with Python, C++, Windchill, Rhapsody, Doors, Subversion, Jira
-
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
