We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer Sub-System Manager for Pressurized Rover to join our team with JETS II Teammate Company, Barrios Technology, Inc.

Responsibilities:

  • The Systems Engineer will be supporting the Pressurized Rover Vehicle Sub-System, a critical sub-system of the Gateway Program which will return astronauts to the Moon.
  • Expert Lead for this sub-system comprising of the development of the program, participation in requirements working group, development of standards and adjudication, and insight of provider design.
  • Support engineering flight project schedule, procurement documentation, budget, and system requirements documents.
  • Develop and support sub-project requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification/validation, operations, and sustaining engineering.
  • Conduct product life cycle reviews, coordinate integration, verification, and validation activities.
  • Work with requirements to align with hardware specifications while understanding the verifications including integrated analyses and decomposition.
  • Perform integrated analysis of the Pressurized Rover as it completes testing and certification.
  • Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews.
  • Work with team members and leads to identify risks, develop risk statements, and plan risk responses with mitigation strategies.
  • Work and present schedule and progress to customers and boards/panels.
  • Must have good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requisition Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering in the field or in a related area.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SE&I processes, methodologies, tools and technologies including model-based systems engineering.
  • Knowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.
  • Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.
  • Able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision.
  • Experience working in a team environment.

Requisition Preferences:

  • Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork.
  • Experience with NASA processes.

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
