Job Summary
The System Support Specialist III daily responsibilities include providing technical assistance to computer system users, answering questions or resolving computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or from remote location. Provides technical and application support and maintenance; uses various utilities to trouble-shoot, repair, and check configuration of servers and applications. The System Support Specialist III follows Operations policy and procedures and updates assigned service tickets daily. Functions as a liaison between the other technology groups such as biomed, neurologists, & IT and the operations team. May be requested to work nights, weekends, holidays, and participate in on call rotation.
Pay Range
Minimum $34.43 Midpoint $45.62 Maximum $56.80
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience
  • Required: Minimum five years of experience in an IT environment. Experience should include supporting typical end-user computing devices within a corporate environment; deploying and supporting end-user computing hardware; experience in LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN networking infrastructure; experience in recommending hardware/software and application purchases and documenting resolutions for existing as well as future reference.
  • Preferred: Experience in healthcare IT environment. Experience with ITIL v3 foundations.
Education
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT discipline or combination of relevant experience and education can be accepted in
lieu of degree.
Specialized Skills
  • Required: Advanced knowledge in MS Office suite, Visio and Project. Knowledge of Data & Voice Network technology, general Windows systems administration, mobile device management, and basic scripting knowledge. High level understanding of medical IT practice and procedures. Familiarity with related or equivalent EEG software such as to Nihon Kohden Neuroworkbench, Cadwell Arc, Cadwell Cascade Pro, Persyst Advanced Review, Compumedics Neuroscan Curry. Excellence verbal and written communication and project management. Strong knowledge in install/configure network devices, applications and application distribution systems, system security compliance including virus protection, network standards and guidelines. Ability to utilize enterprise tools, configure and install new PCs, thin clients, laptops, tablets, MAC system, portable phones and PDAs, and physical attachment of PC to network, install and maintain peripheral equipment, such as printers, modems, scanners, etc. Must be able to multitask and work under minimal supervision. Ability to set goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards; care with sensitivity and respect; advance care through development of new ideas and technology; promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission; and understand & exceed customer expectations.
Licensure
  • Required: ITIL Certification, Microsoft Certifications, Cisco Certifications.
