Taproom/Bar Manager & Event Coordinator
Job description
Elm Creek Brewing Co. is a growing microbrewery in Champlin Minnesota. We have a 150-person indoor taproom with about 2500 square feet of patio space on the front and back of the building. We are looking for someone that can help take our taproom to the next level as we finish our expansion and enter our busy season!!

The Taproom Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the taproom and the taproom experience, including cultivating customer experience, organizing events, booking food trucks, meeting performance goals, and managing all taproom staff.
Taproom-Operations
- Ongoing review of policies and procedures of the taproom and management of team’s adherence
- Identify staffing needs - hire, train, and manage taproom staff
- Manage all food operations - schedule food vendors and own relationships with food partners
- Partner with General Manager to plan and facilitate events, including ordering equipment, supplies, scheduling bands/entertainment, scheduling staff, applying for permits, etc
- Monitor, inventory and order merchandise
- Manage vendor relationships and ordering of supplies for taproom
- Manage online interactions including website, social media, emails and reviews
- Ensure that the environment is welcoming with appropriate ambience
- Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of taproom including the bathrooms
- Provide weekly updates and assist with quarterly all-staff meetings
- Must effectively communicate and collaborate with taproom staff, ownership, Production team, Sales team, and Marketing team
Taproom-Efficiencies
- Be an expert in our POS system - manage configuration and inventory of products and devices
- Manage labor needs through scheduling and ensuring that the number of beer tenders match the demand in the taproom
- Review and approve hours worked for payroll purposes
- Ensure product accounting efficiencies - including ensuring that all transactions are reported through the POS system including comps, spillage, etc
- Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of employees and customers
Cash Control and Reporting
- Manage the cash deposits to ensure accuracy
- Maintain communication with accounting to ensure the cash on hand is sufficient for operating the tap room.
- Provide weekly tap room sales report along with other tracking indicators to accounting and ownership
Production Collaboration
- Work with our Production team to coordinate when and how beers roll on and off the menu
- Work with Production staff on trouble shooting any beer quality concerns
- Coordinate on flavor notes to provide to taproom staff
Qualifications
- Passion for craft beer
- Three (3) years of experience in front of the house management of a brewery or hospitality business
- Ability to work with a variety of people
- Flexibility to travel and work on evenings and weekends
- Strong communication skills for both internal and external audiences
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail
- Desire to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven, collaborative environment
- Perform other duties when specifically assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000 - $60,000.00 plus tips per year
