Job Title: Tax Senior

A well-known Florida-based CPA firm that specializes in government, healthcare, and middle-market-technology firms is looking for a Tax Senior for their Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, or Tampa location.
This position requires an individual with strong accounting expertise, efficient team management, and communication skills who can create effective tax plans and collaborate with the accounting and senior leadership teams to identify areas for improvement and potential risks. Candidates must feel comfortable overseeing accurate preparation of tax forms and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws. This role also involves optimizing reporting procedures and ensuring efficient team operations to achieve compliance objectives.
The right candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in public accounting. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to take their accounting career to the next level and grow within an established firm.
Job Highlights:
Qualifications (Required):
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- Licensed CPA in state of practice, or, if not CPA eligible, Enrolled Agent
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in public accounting
- 3+ years of relevant experience in tax compliance, tax accounting, tax research, and analysis
Qualifications (Preferred) :
- Excellent interpersonal communication (both verbal and written) with clients and team members
- Strong analytical skills to analyze financial data, identify tax planning opportunities, and assess tax risks
- Understanding and application of tax laws and regulations (including federal, state, and local tax laws)
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel
Responsibilities:
- Prepare tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships
- Conduct tax analysis and reach informed conclusions
- Create quarterly and year-end estimates for clients to support tax planning efforts
- Meet client deadlines and time constraints
- Possess technical knowledge necessary to assist staff associates
- Deliver excellent client service through quality work, attentive service, and quick turnaround
- Build positive client relationships and foster client loyalty
- Develop proficiency in tax research and familiarity with the reference sources available to the firm
- Keep up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide clients with accurate and relevant tax advice
