Teacher(Posting #209-23)The Department of Children and Families, Office of Education has an immediate need for a Teacher at the Union Campus, located in Scotch Plains, NJ, in the following subject matters: * Teacher of the Handicapped* General Education with Teacher of Students with Disabilities Under the direction of the Supervisor of Educational Programs or Assistant Supervisor of Educational Programs, the Teacher plans, executes, and evaluates the lessons and educational experiences of the assigned pupils, class, or classes. Performs these duties exercising independent judgement and with a comprehensive knowledge of department rules, regulations, and policies; does other related duties as required. Please note that schools within OOE have a 12-month school year.REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION: Requires possession of a valid standard teacher certification or valid Certificate of Eligibility (CE) or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) issued by the NJ Department of Education in one (1) or more of the following areas: * Teacher of the Handicapped* General Education with Teacher of Students with DisabilitiesSPECIAL NOTE: Experience teaching special needs and/or at-risk students is preferred.LICENSE: Possession of valid Standard Certificate issued by the State Board of Examiners of the New Jersey Department of Education with an endorsement in subject area(s) determined appropriate by the Appointing Authority.SPECIAL NOTE: Ability to physically lift, move and position students as needed.SALARY: $58,031.09 - $94,376.42 commensurate with certificate and experience.LICENSE: Appointees will be required to possess a drivers license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.RESIDENCY LAW: Please refer to the New Jersey Department of Children and Families website at www.state.nj.us/dcf.SAME APPLICANTS: If you are applying under the NJ SAME program, your supporting documents (Schedule A or B letter), must be submitted along with your resume by the closing date indicated above.
