Background & Purpose of the Job
Ahold Team Lead is responsible for all of the activities associated with 3 retailers - Stop & Shop (Boston, MA), Giant Co (Carlisle, PA) and Giant Foods (Baltimore, MD).This position will lead Ahold’s cross functional team of 6 direct reports and 3 indirect reports. The leader will cross-functionally manage shopper insights, category management, shopper marketing, ecommerce, supply chain and deduction management. The position will require excellent customer skills as the Team Leader will manage all aspects of the commercial plan for the Ahold entity. In addition, this Team Lead will need to be in lock step with the Delhaize Team managing Food Lion and Hannaford. Ahold announced that they would be exiting a service agreement with the wholesaler C&S. This means over the next year, Ahold will be going through a major transition to their own supply network. This will require excellent communication and negotiation skills with this major customer transformation.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
The Team Leader will be responsible for the development and execution of the $280mm annual volume across all categories. The Team Lead will be responsible for working with the Grocery Business Development Team and the internal brand and CS&P teams to ensure the plans are resourced and the spending and volume are synchronized in order to deliver the Joint Business Plan. The Team Leader will be responsible for the operational aspects of this team including forecasting, trade investment productivity, deduction management, and supply chain compliance. In short, the Team Leader is accountable for the financial results for the business unit.

Deliver volume, trade investment, and sales contribution on all categories at the Ahold enterprise

Build a multi-year, strategic joint business plan with the customer

Manage a team, delivering the individual and collective success required of the team

Identify trade spend efficiencies, opportunities and risks

Review plans to ensure integrity and risks are reflected

Raise up all opportunities for growth through the proper channels

Develop customer and category specific Trade Plans that achieve growth targets

Recommend alternative business strategies to help drive volume & efficiencies.

Deliver operational objectives including forecast accuracy and deduction levels

Coordinate promotion and new item activities with Grocery BD Team and CSP.

Communicate all customer, market and Sector issues, activities, opportunities, and risks

Customize corporate marketing and merchandising programs with customer

Develop corporate marketing and merchandising programs

Coordinate, and manage, Category Management initiatives

Build relationships with various Ahold merchants
What You’ll Need To Succeed

Bachelors degree required and 8+ years of related Sales, Category Management, and Trade Marketing experience. Ahold experience a plus

Trade Marketing and Category Management experience is a plus

Experience in Customer planning and creation

Skilled in verbal & written communications to work with our Ahold Leadership Team, Business Development Team, and CSP and Brand Team

Multi task problem solving and project management with numerous support groups. Delivery of growth initiatives

Abilities to present and sell ideas and techniques to all Ahold and Unilever personnel that are potentially new ways of achieving profitable sales growth and turnover targets

Must establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and peers.

Proven Leader of People

Must have strong relationship building and management skills

Working knowledge of IRI, AMPS, Loyalty Card Data and Customer POS Data is strongly desired

Pay: The pay range for this position is $135,600 to $203,300 Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
