The Technical Operations (Tech Ops) Program Manager invests in the future of Southwest’s People in their work managing and supporting programs, projects, and initiatives in the Technical Operations space. This role is part of the Tech Ops Portfolio and Initiatives Team, and they will work with many workgroups throughout the Company in order to oversee all aspects of program and project management over the life of the program(s). This role can look forward to being part of impactful and highly visible programs like the 737 MAX 8 Acquisitions, Aircraft WiFi, In-Seat Power, and more. This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Job Summary
The Program Manager is responsible for all aspects of program(s) and project management for moderately complex, highly visible Tech Ops strategic initiatives over the life of the program(s). The Program Manager is well versed on the program(s), accountable for day-to-day work activities, decisions, driving progress, and resolving issues.
Responsibilities
Partners with Tech Ops Leadership and other Departments to lead Tech Ops programs in support of Tech Ops and the Company’s strategic plan
Defines and drives moderately complex program plans for multiple, simultaneous, related projects or for a single complex project including scope, budget and schedule
Executes tasks defined in the program plan to achieve program goals using standard program and project management methodologies
Works as the program leader; managing multiple project work streams, driving analysis, recommendations, decisions and delivery
Validates and helps develop business cases with Customers/Partners
Establishes and assists in leading company-wide teams of various departments and functions, and vendors in developing strategy, project plans, business cases, and overall program health plans
Proactively monitors program risks, issues, and scope, ensuring the appropriate level of priority, visibility, alignment, communication and escalation
Initiates overall communication strategy and leads meetings and presentations to Leadership
Ensures appropriate formal governance processes are followed for programs and projects
Gains buy-in for program goals and lead others through decision-making with challenging and diverse Customer groups
Is a champion for change and process improvements to streamline and improve process effectiveness and efficiencies
Builds and nurtures relationships with Partners and Leadership at all levels, and makes sound recommendations to program Leadership, while providing support and guidance for business, operational and Technology dependent programs
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Advanced knowledge of program and project processes, problem management tools and procedures
Skilled in effective verbal and written communication to audiences of all levels, and is exceptionally skilled in narrating strategic vision and tactical plans (specifically well-executed PowerPoint decks)
Expert practitioner of MS Project, Visio, and the entire Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to proactively drive conversations with Leadership at all levels, and influence program stakeholders at all levels, and across a diverse set of Customer groups
Strong financial acumen to interpret and communicate corporate financial analyses and financial statements
Ability to work well with others as part of a team and be able to manage and influence others, who are not direct reports, to provide specific results
Ability to resolve conflicts and foster a collaborative team environment
Able to contend with the range and complexity of large business problems
Skilled and able to evaluate pros and cons, risks and benefits of varied options within assignment(s)
Ability to connect seemingly unrelated ideas, events, and circumstances to find solutions to problems related to assignment(s)
Work style that projects confidence and authority while maintaining composure, tailoring communication and influence tactics based on situational awareness Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Required: Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
Program/Project management, driving and delivering complex programs or projects
Financial/operational analysis
Developing business cases

Preferred: Experience with facilities projects and/or managing broad strategic programs
Preferred: Skilled in both written and verbal communication across varied audiences and levels of Leadership, particularly effective and brief communication for status and updates
Preferred: Skilled in discussion, meeting, and presentation facilitation across varied audiences and levels of stakeholders, as well as multitasking to document notes or necessary actions as needed

Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information
Moderate travel, including international, as required by assignment(s)
Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours, if necessary, to meet assignment deadlines

Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $92,950 per year to $103,300 p er year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
