TECHNICAL THEATER MANAGER

Function of job: To oversee all activities occurring in the theatre

Reports to: The Principal

Hours: Full Time, 40 flexible hours/week which will include nights and weekends as needed

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Point person for all aspects of theatre rentals including facilitating tours, answering tech questions, being present for practices and performances and running tech for the shows
• Knowledge of and care for tech equipment.
• Responsible for theatre maintenance by coordinating necessary repairs, painting, equipment and housekeeping with appropriate staff.
• Supervise and train student assistants.
• Organization and care of backstage areas.
• Point person for all school-related programs in the theatre both during the school day and in the evening.
• Oversight of student crews for all Nazareth drama productions.
• Collaborate with members of the Fine Arts Department in planning events.
• Coordinate efforts with Nazareth’s Director of Technology.
• Management of annual theatre budget.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Management and/or two years of related experience in theatre work
• Communication skills, both oral and written
• Knowledge of general theatre practices
• Highly tech capable
• Dependable, creative, works well with others
