Job description
The Member Service Representative is responsible for providing excellent customer service to credit union members. They will assist members with account inquiries, transaction processing, and problem resolution. Additionally, they will actively promote credit union products and services to members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome members to the credit union in a professional and courteous manner.
- Respond to member inquiries regarding account balances, transactions, and account information.
- Process member transactions including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.
- Educate members on credit union products and services and assist with the opening of new accounts.
- Investigate and resolve member problems with their accounts or transactions.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of credit union policies and procedures.
- Follow all security and compliance procedures to ensure the safety and confidentiality of member information.
- Assist with other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior customer service experience, preferably in a financial institution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with members.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in transaction processing.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and computer software, including Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule with occasional Saturday office hours.
Physical Demands:
The Member Service Representative may be required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time. They may also be required to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
