Role Summary: MSG is looking for a looking for a skilled VFX Coordinator with experience scheduling, communicating and coordination of complex projects involving live action, studio, and post media production. The VFX Coordinator at MSG is a key support player for the Compositing department and will take direction from the VFX Producers/Supervisors and Post Supervisors to support projects from initiation to final delivery of content. They will support the internal artists VFX teams at an end-to-end scale for MSG Sphere Studios in Burbank. As the creative content shop for MSG Sphere projects, we strive for the best content creation, delivering content that has never been witnessed before on displays that have never been seen in this scale. The VFX Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all productions are well supported during the post production process. This role will cover all productions within the studio including attractions, immersive shows, residencies, and corporate events to name a few. Specific Functions/Activities Summary:
- Supports the VFX & Post Teams, and in particular acts as logistical hub of information for the VFX artists & Supes
- Support Producers, Department leads, Supervisors, Executive Producers, clients & partners, crewing and scheduling projects, keeping in mind the needs of the artists, project schedule & budget
- Schedule VFX Artists and attend client meetings as needed
- Act as notetaker at meetings, publish notes as needed
- Recognize the needs of the artists, Supes & Producers and proactively addresses them
- Act as communication liaison for all parties relevant to your work (internal and external)
- Schedule, track and manage assigned work within appropriate tracking tools
- Track work to schedules and communicate risks, opportunities, and deadlines (internal and external)
- Tracking, documenting and archiving of completed projects and project learnings.
- 3-5 years’ experience at a VFX house supporting live action production, animation, episodic, film and/or immersive media with IMDB credits to back up
- F-Track experience strongly preferred
- Technical post production knowledge is a bonus (i.e. industry standard software - Nuke, Premiere, Resolve, Fusion, C4D, Maya, AE, Adobe CS). Knowledge of industry standard file formats, industry standard naming conventions and file delivery protocol.
- Proficiency with the following: MS Office 360, Calendar, Excel, PowerPoint, Airtable
- Tireless attention to detail and follow through
- Have a basic understanding of the following: production budgeting/accounting, scheduling, workflow for live action production, live events a plus
- Self-starter, motivated to learn
- Ability to work autonomously while having a clear sense of when to seek counsel from a senior team member
- A developing ability to interact with Clients/Creative Partners (with support of Producer)
- A sense of urgency balanced with the ability to prioritize and remain calm
