Job description

The Residential Therapist for KVC Niles, a subsidiary of KVC Missouri, provides trauma-informed case management and therapy to children and adolescents being served by the residential and/or acute programs. The Residential Therapist collaborates with hospital liaisons, schools, mental health centers and the community to collectively address individual needs of each client on their caseload.

Education Requirements for Residential Therapist: Master’s degree in Social Work, Family Therapy or Counseling from an accredited institution.

Licensure/Certification Requirements for Residential Therapist: LMSW, LSW, KSCSW, LPC, LCC, LMFT, LCMFT or other professional license issued/approved by the state(s) in which you practice. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Experience/Skill Requirements for Residential Therapist: Minimum of one-year supervised experience in providing individual, family and group therapy to children and/or adolescents. Documented course work in child/adolescent development and individual, family and group counseling. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Base Salary starts at $43,000-$46,000 annually depending on education and experience.

KVC Niles, a subsidiary of KVC Missouri, provides expert and compassionate care to youth ages 6 to 17 who are experiencing depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, the impacts of trauma and other behavioral and mental health needs. We use neuroscience-based treatment resources regarding how stress and trauma impact brain development and translate this science into innovative, hands-on tools that guide successful treatment outcomes. Our goal is for each child to safely return home with the resources and supports in place to live a healthy and happy life in their community.

KVC Missouri is a nonprofit child placing and behavioral health agency with a long legacy of compassionately serving children and families. It includes KVC Niles in Kansas City which offers day treatment (K-12 school) and psychiatric residential treatment.
