Job description

Purpose: To assist in the daily operations of the upstairs store when, where, and as needed.

Duties:

• To perform tasks that are necessary to prepare for the display and sale of merchandise.
• To price, hang and sort clothing as instructed.
• To appropriately deal with customers and donors in a public setting.
• Prepare shoes, purses, linens, and other items for display.
• Back-up cashier.
• Vacuuming and cleaning of sales floor.
• Other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to work well with people and be prepared to deal with potentially difficult individuals from time to time.
• Basic knowledge of clothing brands and prices.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment or for cause drug test.
• Ability to pass criminal background check.
• This job will require occasional lifting of 30 pounds or more, as well as bending, stretching, twisting and other physical activities.
• The Thrift Store is seeking to hire a full-time position for clothing/store floater. The job includes working with clothing, pricing and sorting, and would also cross train in other departments, including cashier to fill in if needed. Items arrive at the store already sorted into storage bins. The bins are then opened from oldest to newest and tagged and priced and placed on the sales floor. Store hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and we are closed weekends. Knowledge of clothing brands and prices is preferred. Credentials and Experience:

• High school graduate or the equivalent.
• Experience working with people or in a retail setting is preferred.
