Responsibilities
Base Salary Range: $99,000 - $200,000 per year.
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
Trader (Quantitative Trading and Research) (SG Americas Securities, LLC, New York, NY)
Use advanced statistical/mathematical techniques to perform extensive data analysis with the purpose of generating systematic trading strategies used in equity market-making activities. Work closely with the other trading team members to generate new systematic trading strategies and backtest their profitability. Work closely with IT resources in real-time market accesses and algorithmic development to explain needs and validate releases of resources. Utilize operational resources to investigate, correct and validate operational issues (including referential, booking, and valuation). Stay abreast of corporate action events and evaluate their impact on index/ETF compositions. Evaluate company filings and news feeds to automatically extract valuable information for systematic trading. Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting must report to SG Americas Securities, LLC, 245 Park Ave., New York, NY 10167. Salary: $99,000 - $200,000 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s Degree or U.S. equivalent in Finance, Statistics, Financial Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Computer Science, Computational Finance, or a related field plus 3 years of professional experience working for a global financial institution performing quantitative trading and research on equity space, market microstructure and impact cost/liquidity models for American equity exchanges (including USA, Canada, and Brazil), low latency algorithmic electronic market-making of linear equity products, and linear equity derivative trading and pricing both domestic (US) and international. Must also have experience with the following special skills: 3 years of professional experience with non-linear (machine learning and kernel methods) models, to optimize automated decision making; 3 years of professional experience programming in low latency object-oriented environment and running high performance trading applications; 3 years of professional experience performing high-throughput time series analysis, signal generation and analysis and datamining to extract statistically significant biases that can be used in systematic strategies and validating them through in-depth historical data back testing; 2 years of professional experience using statistical programming languages (including Python or R) to extract metrics from dataset.
