We have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Training and Competency Coordinator to join our newly created Training and Competency Team on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of dedicated support to the Training and Competency manager to ensure the provision of targeted training and competency management across the Company. We are happy to consider experienced candidates with relevant experience or a Graduate looking to progress their career in this area.

This position will work closely with teams across the business and in particular our Crewing Operations team with regards to UK Certification training and eLearning requirements and requires a pro-active attitude and the ability to adapt to varying workflow volumes. A certain level of autonomy is expected as the teams supported by this role may not always be at the same location.

This role is office based in Great Yarmouth and applicants must possess a UK passport or valid right to work in the UK documentation.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing the shared mailbox actioning correspondence and responding to personnel within an appropriate timescale;
  • Training bookings and issuance of joining instructions to delegates;
  • Issuance of Training Certification for all Training undertaken both internally and externally;
  • Register personnel to the Company eLearning via the LMS for courses relevant to their role (Onshore and Offshore Requirements);
  • Track, monitor and record eLearning completions within the LMS and provide reports as required by the T&C Manager;
  • Assist and support in information gathering and verification of Certification for the issuance of Client Project Matrices;
  • Track, monitor and record Offshore Performance Appraisals updating the Crewing Officers with summary of Performance ratings;
  • Track, monitor and record vessel and role specific Familiarisation documentation within the relevant Onboard Tracker;
  • Provide compliance reports to the Training & Competency Manager when required;
  • Record, track and monitor validity periods of training, qualification and medical certification ensuring that personnel are contacted in a reasonable time prior to expiry;
  • Record hardcopy training certification ensuring electronic copies are appropriately stored within Onboard Tracker and monitored for authentication and validity;
  • Provide general administration support to the T&C Manager;
  • Support the T&C Manager in the management and administration of the Company Competence Management Program and associated Certification;


Your qualities

You can make your mark as a Training and Competency Coordinator if you have:

  • Proven experience in as Training Coordinator / HR Assistant / Crewing Operations or similar role
  • Relevant qualification or degree in Learning and Development / Training and Competency or similar topic
  • Knowledge of Offshore Industry Training requirements for Training and Competence (Survey Sector) in accordance with O&G UK, HSE, IMCA and industry driven expectations
  • Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems and HR databases
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload to ensure productivity
  • High degree of professionalism and understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements
  • Excellent communicator both written and verbal
  • Good attention to detail and strong problem-solving
  • Team spirit and a collaborative work ethic
  • Ability to manage Internal and external stake holders

  • Fulltime job: The position of Training and Competency Coordinator is a fulltime role, 37.5 hours per week
