TRANSIT BUS OPERATOR

BSOOB Transit is looking to add to our outstanding team! Need a CDL? Or already have a Class A but need your Passenger endorsement? We have a CDL training program to help qualifying candidates obtain the required Class B CDL and Passenger endorsement.

Pay Rate

• Top rate of $25.87 after 24 months of employment
• $19.24 starting rate during training and licensing (as needed)
• Quickly increasing wage progression at 3, 6, and 12 months
• Many opportunities for overtime

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operates bus in a safe and professional manner following an assigned schedule.
• Provides courteous passenger assistance as necessary.
• Complies with all local traffic regulations.
• Maintains appearance, behavioral and physical standards necessary to fulfill the agency's essential mission.
• Complies with all ADA regulations and other policies and procedures.
• Participates in safety and related training programs.

Essential Aptitudes, Skills and Functions:

• Reliable, dependable and maintains excellent attendance and time management skills.
• Possess and maintain outstanding customer service skills.
• Required ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Dependable, trustworthy, and a high level of integrity with regard to their work.
• Can utilize common sense and think quickly to adapt and solve problems.
• Maintains an excellent driving record and is safety focused.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Basic Computer Skills.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Maintains a clean and safe driving record.

Minimum Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
• Occasional standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, pulling and pushing.
• Occasional lifting and carrying objects.
• Requires continuous use of hands, arms, feet and legs to push/pull or activate essential controls in repetitive operational motions.
• The ability to keep mentally alert and maintain concentration for recurring periods.

COVID-19 considerations:
Face coverings are recommended for staff and customers. BSOOB Transit buses have an industry leading onboard HVAC air sanitation system. Equipment and facilities are disinfected regularly.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Commercial driving: 1 year (Preferred)
