Job description

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced and knowledgeable individual to lead a programme to review the UCLH Patient Transport Service. The job is a fixed term contract (or a secondment) up until the 31stof March with a possibility of extension.

We are looking for someone who has extensive working knowledge of managing patient transport and be able to rapidly assess and evaluate services within a complex health environment. You will be working with senior managers and directors within the organisation and engaging with external partners on behalf of UCLH.

This fixed term project role will include development of a Patient Transport Strategy, appraising the options for provision of Patient Transport after the end of the current transport contract, evaluation of the pros and cons of in-house versus out-sourced transport provision, evaluation of the pros and cons of multi-Trust transport procurement and project management of the implementation of a new patient transport IT system.

The UCLH Clinical Support Services Division (CSS) is one of six Divisions in the Medicine Hospital Board within UCLH. Our Medical Director is Dr Charles House.

CSS encompasses an array of clinical support services including pharmacy, therapies, dietetics, speech & language therapy, switchboard and patient transport. The Divisional Manager is Dr Fiona Yung and the Divisional Clinical Director is Dr Robert Urquhart.

The post holder will be responsible for leading a programme to review the Trust Patient Transport Service. The post holder will be directly responsible to the Clinical Support Services Divisional Manager and will need to work closely with senior colleagues in the Trust and a variety of stakeholders external to UCLH
