General Expectations:

This position is responsible for coordinating, scheduling and directing the delivery of our homes. This position requires great interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills in relating to Independent Transportation Company Managers and Personnel, Community Managers, Drivers, Production Team, Sales Team, A/R Team, Field Operations Team, QA, and the Retail Customer.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Directing the prompt and efficient delivery of every single home produced at Clayton Wakarusa plants 995 and 996.
• Access AS400 to find out what homes are on production schedule and begin coordination for their delivery within 3 days of their off-line date.
• Maintain current transportation quotes to each location we ship homes.
• Create and maintain current and accurate shipping schedules and distribute thru the organization.
• Review and correct transportation costs and produce accurate invoices for each home.
  Invoice each home in AS400.
• Communicates with Communities so they are prepared to take home delivery within 3 days of production.
• Coordinates independent transportation company delivery capacity to accommodate all homes on the shipping schedule and make minute by minute changes to maximize transportation assets and effectiveness.
• Collect and produce driver packets for each home.
• Coordinate Dealer Pick up home shipments.
• Oversee the sign out of each home leaving the facility.
• Make sure Homes that require paint or drywall compound are shipped with those materials in freezing weather.
• Returns calls to retailers advising of when they can expect deliveries.
• Spear head on the road repairs when homes have breakdowns during transportation.
• Process payments for axle and frame repairs on homes in transit to Independent Contractors.
• Manage bill backs due to driver damage to either homes or community property.
• Forward parts list to CX Manager when shipping damages occur.
• Oversee invoicing for payment to Independent transportation companies for delivery services.
• Manage yard inventory.
• Monitor and manage Michigan frost law shipping restrictions.
  

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:

• Very high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Highly skilled with handling transportation questions & ability to negotiate deliveries even when the customer is not ready to accept deliveries and keep yard inventory down even when deliveries cannot be made.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office & AS400 system.
  

Education and Qualifications:

• Previous Manufactured housing experience.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, AS400.
• Experience in transportation and dispatch.
