This position reports directly to the Chief Deputy Treasurer and deals with the public face to face and on the telephone. Work involves varied treasury functions in an automated, busy, and often (seasonal) hectic work environment.

Examples Of Duties

Processing customer payments at the counter.

Downloading electronic payments.

Processing other third-party payments (i.e., over the phone payments), via mail-in payments.

Answering customer account questions, in person at the counter, over the phone, via email.

Works the DMV counter, taking customer payments, providing titles, registrations, license plates, handicap passes, EZ Pass transponders, and driving records.

Responsibilities may also include, managing DMV, close, replenishing of DMV supplies.

Weekly, monthly, and annual inventory audits, retention destruction.

Daily balancing, cash, check and credit card, receipts.

Quarterly Balancing Petty Cash

Customer phone support.

Process vendor checks.

Upload and file GL daily work.

Process mail, process return mail.

Perform research using Clear.

Daily exoneration reports, research and mail corrected invoices, research and mail VRF invoices.

Upload remote deposits to the bank.

Administering Lifetime Dog License Program

Running Vet reports

Processing payments for lifetime tags

Sending monthly invoices from veterinarian reports

Sending monthly rabies reminders

Delinquent Collections, preparing boot paperwork.

Creating targeted neighborhood lists for the Tax Compliance Officer.

Negotiate, monitor, and maintain payment plans. Including follow-up with taxpayers who have failed to maintain payment agreement; works to bring delinquent accounts current.

Upload collection file to outside agency on a weekly basis

Qualifications

Graduation from high school.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
:

Patient, service-oriented, pleasant, outgoing disposition, and detail-oriented.

Effective spoken and written communication skills.

Skill in the operation of office machines (10 key adding machines, fax, computer, Xerox, printers, scanners, etc.)

Strong basic math skills, on an hourly basis, will be required to, make arithmetical computations rapidly and accurately.

Perform detailed work accurately, initiate and maintain necessary follow-up, and most importantly, greet and assist customers, both pleasant and unpleasant.

Will be required to maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Basic typing skills (25 wpm).

Additional Desirable Qualification
:

Accounting and/or bookkeeping skills and Spanish fluency are a plus.
