Core Position Information
Job Title: Treatment Nurse LVN
Reports to: Director of Nursing
Status: Non-Exempt Hourly
Collaborates: Assistant Director of Nurses ADON
Job Purpose:
Provides weekly skin reviews/checks, treatments and gathers data regarding wounds.
Essential job Duties and Responsibilities:
Nursing Care:
Responsible for weekly skin assessments of all residents on shower days; validates skin sheets completed by CNAs; responsible for following facility wound care protocol; Stasis/Venus/Arterial ulcers; management of skin tears, surgical wounds, etc. Complete rotational on call duties as well as floor duties (PRN) and helping with admissions and monthly summaries.
Documentation:
Complete proper documentation adhering to company policy and procedure; responsible for Braden assessments upon admission, quarterly and PRN of all residents. Prepare assessment, treatment, and documentation of all residents with stage 1, 2, 3 or 4 pressure ulcers; prepare weekly pressure ulcer documentation for DON and/or Regional Nurse Specialist.
Resident Rights:
Understand, comply with and promote all rules regarding Residents’ rights.

Participate in in-service training, assist in implementing orientation programs and job skills training, maintains professional competence

Physical and Sensory Requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical device):
Works in a climate-controlled and well-lighted environment.. Works in an office and throughout the building daily. Has Category 1 risk of exposure to infectious diseases, but receives training in handwashing practices and Universal Precautions and has access to personal protective equipment if direct exposure is anticipated. Is subject to interruptions, noise, and odors daily
Walking, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures, ability to communicate with residents and employees, ability to understand and follow training, ability to instruct staff in service education, and the ability to remain calm under stress.
Qualifications:
Must be a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in good standing and currently licensed by the State.
Completion of secondary education or otherwise able to read and write in legible and understandable manner.
Two (2) years as a practicing LVN preferred.
Previous wound care training: educational or two (2) years hands on preferred.
Must be CPR certified.
Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and work cooperatively with other associates.
Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
