At Peraton you will help protect our national security by working with our countries law enforcement customer to solve their big data challenges. Peraton is looking for a talented Oracle Database Administrator, to manage multiple Oracle databases.
Responsibilities
What you’ll do…
- Install, maintain, upgrade and apply patches to large-scale Oracle databases in UNIX environment.
- Assist in planning and implementing Disaster Recovery and High Availability Strategies including Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Oracle Dataguard contained on an Oracle engineered system.
- Maintain standard and enhanced Oracle security features including Oracle Label Security (OLS).
- Utilize Oracle diagnostic tools like Explain Plan, SQL Trace, TKPROF, and the AWR to analyze timing and execution plans for performance tuning.
- Plan and implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN.
- Conduct database performance analysis, tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure updates do not adversely impact performance.
- Work with development teams to transform requirements into process flow and supporting database objects.
- Assist develop teams in defining initial storage requirements, monitor database storage utilization, and perform capacity planning.
- Structure and implement project specific database releases in integration and production environments.
- Assist development teams with design and performance of developed processes to extract data from Oracle databases into data lakes and search indexes.
- Proactively address performance or availability issues based on alerts.
- Qualifications
You’d be a great fit if…
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Have 5 years of experience with working knowledge of Oracle, Windows, Linux, SQL, and Shell Scripting.
- Experience with administering Oracle databases and associated products including Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control
- Prior experience working with development teams and assisting with the creation and modification of database objects in development, integration, and production environments.
- Prior experience implementing, executing and monitoring database backup operations
- Active top-secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.
