We are seeking a detail-oriented Underwriting Associate to support our Underwriters in evaluating quote requests and overseeing preparation for account renewals.

You’d have the following responsibilities:

• Evaluate new quote requests for completeness and follow up on missing information
• Prepare renewal quotes for underwriter approval
• Leverage multiple data providers to produce a complete file prior to underwriter review
• Assist with underwriter submission workloads, ensuring production targets are met
• Assist underwriters in policy issuance workflow
• Communicate with brokers regarding submission details
• Review and evaluate property inspection reports
• Follow established guidelines and referral rules to determine new quote eligibility and fit

Supervision structure:

➢ Reports directly to Lead Underwriting Associate
➢ Part of the Underwriting Team, which includes Underwriting Associates, Underwriters, Underwriting Manager, and Chief Underwriter

Other duties:

➢ Attend daily and weekly meetings
➢ Complete quarterly reviews
➢ Assist where needed with Underwriting Team and Covenant operations

Qualifications:

➢ College degree from a 4-year university required; business focus preferred (not required)
➢ Interest in learning about our programs and contributing to our growth
➢ Ability to work in-person at our office in downtown Houston

Compensation:

➢ Annual Salary: $55,000 - $65,000
➢ Bonuses based on team production
