POSITION SUMMARY:

The Universal Rework is primarily responsible for repairing and reworking used equipment while following established procedures and guidelines.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Focus on assigned job functions in the rework/parts department.
  • During the internship, the pay rate will be the same as the intern’s primary job.
  • The interns that succeed in learning all rework job functions will be primary candidates when a full-time position becomes open.
  • Ability to drive a forklift, operate a welder, acetylene torch, plasma cutter and various other tools used to rework/repair the structural, electrical and hydraulic components of a compactor.
  • Ability to multi-task numerous job responsibilities with minimal direction. Ability to work in a self-directed work team to meet company objectives while supporting and meeting customer demands. Maintain a customer focused and "can do" attitude to exceed customer demands while balancing the processes, policies and procedures of the company.
  • A strong understanding of the manufacturing process to assist customers in maintaining schedules for their reworked equipment. Prompt communication of order issues or changes to the schedule are a must, as well as being the customer advocate while seeking resolution for the issues.
  • Responsible for complying with all established order management processes.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand our product, troubleshoot system issues, train team members on systems and reports related to orders.
  • Must be familiar with and maintain compliance to all company rules and Code of Ethics.
  • Attendance at work, including presence at work during regular working hours or other schedule as may be assigned by the department manager, is essential. Acceptance of overtime assignments may also be required in order to meet departmental goals and objectives.
  • Ability to be flexible and willing to learn new skills in a constantly changing and dynamic work environment.
  • Performs other various duties as may be assigned.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma required and up to one year of college, technical school or equivalent experience nice to have.
  • Requires ability to understand general arithmetic.
  • Speak and write in a clear and understandable manner for internal and external relations.
  • Understand difficult written and verbal instructions. Requires the ability to read written instructions, correspondence, and other documentation, as well as operate office equipment such as computers and printers.
  • Understand data processing applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Technical knowledge of parts and products.
  • Requires normal attention with periods of high concentration intermittently to rework and repair products and input product and parts orders into computer.


Requirements:

Education: Requires a High School diploma or GED.

Knowledge: Requires ability to understand general arithmetic; ability to write in an understandable manner; understand verbal or written instructions; ability to read and understand instructions, lists and billing materials; use PC based applications, including Mainstar, Outlook, and Microsoft Office, knowledge normally acquired through high school or equivalent experience.

Mental: Requires normal attention with periods of high concentration intermittently to operate machinery approximately 50% of time.

Physical: Requires walking/standing approximately 70%, lifting up to 40 pounds approximately 15% of time; involves repetitive overhead work approximately 10% of time; involves repetitive stooping, forward bending and crouching approximately 5% of time.

Manual Dexterity: Requires use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate all manufacturing equipment, meters, chains hoists, automatic drills and general hand tools and to record written information.

Audible Demands: Requires ability to follow verbal instructions and to hear for safety purposes.

Visual: Requires the ability to visually observe essential functions for satisfactory job performance and safety; color and depth perception required.

Environmental: Involves exposure to plant environments with the presence of dust, fumes, noise, and fluctuating temperatures due to lack of climate control.
