Two exciting opportunities have arisen to join our team of administrators working either at Charing Cross Emergency Department or Hammersmith Hospital Urgent Treatment Centre, providing support to patients, clinicians, nurses, and managers.Within Charing Cross Hospital we have an Accident and Emergency department and a co-located Urgent Care Centre. As a receptionist you will be the first point of contact for patients entering the department; you will be expected to register both walk-in patients and ambulances, answering patient queries via telephone and help solve any issues that may arise. You will work alongside the clinicians, nurses, management team and other administrative staff to provide a safe and efficient service to our patients. The post also involves creating close working relationships with services outside of the Emergency Department, such as with the London Ambulance Service paramedics, the ICT department, and staff from the Urgent Care Centre.
As a UTC administrator you will be working within the Urgent treatment centre at Hammersmith Hospital. You will book in patients that arrive with booked appointments and re-direct patients to appropriate departments if they do not have an appointment slot.
In both roles you will have the chance to develop your administrative skills on our award-winning in-house courses and through a programme of structured appraisals, support and development.
The post holder will be responsible for providing a customer orientated reception service and clerical support to the clinical teams in the Emergency Department at Charing Cross and/or the Urgent Care Centre at Hammersmith Hospital. This is to include accurately registering patient attendances and updating details onto the hospital databases. They will also be required to assist in any enquiries from internal or external agencies.
