The Utilities Technician I reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. You are responsible for monitoringequipment that supports utilities and manufacturing areas.Strictadherence to SOPs, cGMPs, and Quality Standards in a PharmaceuticalManufacturing facility are mandatory. Primary responsibilities include ensuring safe and efficienthands-on operations and very limited maintenance of most manufacturing and utilities systems including but not limitedto WWPP,WFI,RO,HVAC, distillation, compressed air, steam, thermal fluids,and components such as pumps, fans, valves, etc.
How you will contribute:
- Operate and maintain various equipment through guided inspection, with review.
- Performextremely limitedpreventive, corrective and predictive maintenance of all associated equipment.
- All work must be completed in accordance with cGMPs, SOPs, job plans, and company
- policies.
- Review related SOPs and job/work plans for work related areas as requested.
- Ensurethatoperationallogandworkorderdocumentationiscompletedwithaccurateinformation.
- Provideextremely limitedsupport for start-up of new equipment to ensure it meets all mechanical design specifications.
- Must followallsafety rules and ensure compliance with state and federal EPAregulations.
- Attend requiredInstructor Lead Trainingsandplanned teammeetings.
What you bring to Takeda:
- Requires high school diploma or GED. 2+ years ofindustrial experience is a plus with Utilities and Wastewaterexperience the preferred experience.
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas through verbal and written form.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to interact constructively with peers and other teams.
- Ability to seek outside resources as needed.
- Ability to read and understand some procedures, schematics, and job blueprints.
- Provide an extremely limited level of troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair of building systems, utilities and manufacturing equipment and supporting components.
- Beginner math and science skills.
- Operate general laboratory equipment to assess analytical status of the utilities process.
Complexity and Problem Solving
- Under direst oversight, the Utilities Technician I will be provided with a limited amount of information and should be expected to assist with making process reliant decisions on utilities and manufacturing systems under unstable conditions while continuing to monitor all other systems.
Internal and External Contacts
- Under direct oversight, the Utilities Technician I shall be expected to provide limited support to multiple manufacturing Teams. There are several maintenance and contractors that spend a large amount of time interfacing with the utilities group that the Tech I will be interacting with.
Other Job Requirements
- May work in -20°C and 43°C environments, direct sunlight, inclement weather, and limited light.
- May be exposed toheights above 80’, loud noises above 85dB ,dust, gases, and fumes.
- May be around active equipment and machinery.
- May be required to enter a confined space.
- May be required to use PPE.
- Work exclusively on days or nights for 12.5 hours on a 3/2/2 schedule
- Work weekends and holidays.
- Maybe required to workaround chemicals such as alcohol, acids and buffers.
- May be required to work or be assigned to a different shift as needed.
- Limited overtimecoverage isrequired.
- May be required to frequently kneel, stand,climb,and walk to inspect, evaluate, and/or perform described maintenance activities to include lifting of items up to 50 lbs.

Important Considerations
At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:
- Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
- Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
- Work in a cold, wet environment.
- Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
- Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

Pay: $17.00 - $30.00 per hour
