As a Water Treatment Utility Supervisor for the City, you will be performing and supervising the construction, maintenance, and repair of the water treatment system, and associated systems.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Ensure City is compliant by completing SWMOR, TCEQ sampling, and monitoring reports, EPA reports, and all other required reports.
• Leads and oversees daily crew work activities required to support the water treatment plant and associated systems
• Directs maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Repairs and maintains lift stations, water pump stations, water storage tanks, treatment plants, and SCADA systems.
• Plans, organizes, schedules, and supervises work and workers.
• Ensure all assigned employees receive training and maintain certifications in water treatment, equipment, and safety.
• Analyze and interpret data and ensures performance measures are being met.
• Develops SOP's
• Conducts a variety of project management tasks.
• Facilitates and or participates in pre-bid and pre-construction meetings.
• Provides technical support to contractors, engineers, and consultants.
• Review and approve contractor submittals.
• Review and updates utility designs and construction specifications.
• Reviews warranty work and schedules warranty repairs.
• Oversees the facility emergency plan.
• Performs administrative and or financial management duties.
• Reviews, monitors, and ensures the accuracy of work orders.
• Obtains quotes, and places orders for materials and supplies.
• Ensures inventory levels are adequate to sustain normal, as well as emergency operations.
• Assist with the preparation of the division's budget.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

Formal Education: High School diploma, or equivalent.
Relatable Work Experience: Five (5) years of experience in water production, treatment, and distribution. Two (2) years of supervisory or managerial experience.
Training, Licenses, or Certifications: Class B Surface Water License. Must obtain a Class A Water Operator License within two years. Valid Class C Texas driver's license. Must be able to obtain a Class B Commercial driver's license within 6 months.

Disclaimer: Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience to meet the job's minimum requirements. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.

• Employees also have an additional retirement fund option to participate in a 457 plan.
• Long-Term Disability is employer-paid and covers 60% of the employee's salary up to $7,500.
• Military leave provides up to 15 days of paid leave per fiscal year for eligible employees.
• Education reimbursement assistance up to $5,000 per fiscal year.
• Employer-paid basic term life insurance policy two (2) times an employee's base salary, up to $325,000 maximum.
• 40 paid service hours are available to volunteer within our community.
• Up to 160 hours of paid parental leave to eligible employees following the birth of an employee's child or the placement of a child with an employee in connection with adoption, foster care, or other legal placement to care for and bond with the child.
