This role provides advanced UX expertise to underpin Ocado Technology's outcomes focus. Understanding both, users and partners' needs. Working in the Shop stream, the UX Designer will support PM and ETL to create different outcomes needed for the Monetisation cluster, projects such as Content Flexibility, Language support, region support and more.

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Influences cluster decisions, highlighting opportunities to improve product effectiveness by applying design thinking and user/par centricity.

  • Collaborates with Product and Engineering peers to monitor how inclusive/accessible our entire product is and contributes to accessibility recommendations.

  • Facilitate design sprint workshops with UX, Product and Engineering teams to accelerate UX designs, helping to turn agreed ideas into prototypes and ultimately build better solutions.

  • Create and encourage feedback frameworks/loops to improve, validate & iterate UX designs with Product and Engineering teams Insights & Data.

  • Conducts simple design evaluations with Product team and identifies opportunities to validate designs.

  • Uses research insights to identify and prioritise opportunities, creating actionable design recommendations and iterations to product features.

  • Sharing meaningful insight based on research efforts with other UX Design and Product colleagues.

  • Shape and influence design decisions using insights from touchpoints across the entire end-to-end service by considering the experience of different actors affected by the service.

  • Contribute to the creation of customer journey flows and empathy maps to help visualise different actors' scenarios and flows for broader team and stakeholders.

  • Uses quantitative and qualitative insights to create complex Information Architecture structures from scratch.

  • Makes high fidelity interactive, shareable prototypes & mentors others in prototyping tools.

Essential:

  • Relevant industry experience or technology business.

  • Knowledge of working with mixed teams / functional areas, including product management, engineering, UX/UI.

  • Proven ability to plan, manage, track and deliver on commitments.

  • Intellectual rigour, possesses relevant abilities & is able to pick up new skills quickly.

  • Ability to work in a team effectively and / or work autonomously.

  • Ability prioritise in a fast-paced environment.

  • Capturing business needs and user requirements to support product realisation.

  • Experience working with product/ux components that are strategically significant, highly complex, or feature a new area of technology, requiring expansion of the platform.

  • Demonstrate usage of deep subject matter expertise & experience working across functional areas balancing the needs of many different product areas.
