Job Description
The UX Researcher will be primarily responsible for designing, conducting, analyzing and reporting on user-centered design research for the company’s products and services, including identification of user needs and goals, click testing, card sorting and tree testing, as well as rapid iterative usability testing, and more formal, in-depth testing. A successful UX Researcher must be able to work with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent projects.
Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements
- Work with the Senior UX Researcher to discover and prioritize user experience opportunities with new and existing products
- Work on collaborative teams with Researchers, UX/UI Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, Business Owners and developers to resolve usability issues and identify strategic business opportunities
- Utilize a broad range of user research techniques to develop a deeper understanding of our customers and the way they work
- Identify key usability needs and help to refine previously implemented features
- Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations
- Analyze, synthesize and communicate test/research results to drive user-centered product definition and iteration
- Assist Senior UX Researcher with managing our research repository
- Coordinates or performs UX research such as interviews, usability studies and competitive analyses
- Facilitates or creates research deliverables in the form of spreadsheets, report outs and presentations
- Advocates for user-first design and design thinking in all settings
- Provide consultation and guidance to determine which methodologies are most effective for desired outcome
- Present findings with strong storytelling abilities
- Design studies with measurable outcomes
- Identify deficiencies and opportunities in processes
- Conduct both qualitative and quantitative user research including lab and remote usability studies, ethnographic research, survey creation and other methodologies
- Proactively identify usability issues by selecting best methodology, compile and analyze data, and present actionable recommendations to improve designs and derive business insights
- Keen eye for design and technologyManage multiple projects in fast-paced environment

Education
bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Marketing, Business, human-centered design, psychology, sociology or equivalent degree. (Pref)
Other in Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. (Req)
Work Experience
User Experience, Marketing or related experience. , 3-5 years (Req)
IA, UI Design, HCI, Human Factors, Cognitive Sciences, Usability, Ethnographic Research , 0-3 years (Pref)
Skills and Abilities
- Experience utilizing various UX Research methods (i.e. usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.)
- Familiarity with both quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
- Proven experience turning research findings into actionable user-centered design and product goals
- Ability to formulate specific, answerable and practical questions
- Experience working in a Lean UX/Agile environment
- Intermediate knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Dovetail, UserZoom, UserTesting, Qualtrics or similar programs
- Keen eye to help preserve integrity of the design throughout the entire development process
- Self-motivator, flexible, team player
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to interpret and analyze an array of data in a variety of forms and leverage it for marketing purposes
- Ability to identify, analyze and solve complex problems

Working Conditions: Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking. Occassional moving and lifting equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown. Physically capable of lifting up to fifty pounds, able to bend, kneel, climb ladders.
