JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. is hiring a full-time Vaccine Clinic Software Project Coordinator to support the Massachusetts (MA) Department of Public Health’s (DPH) Vaccine Clinic Management (VCM) Platform, hosted by the vendor, COLOR. COLOR provides an online digital public health tool used by MA public health providers to manage vaccination clinics.
The Project Coordinator must be able to work both independently and on a team, collaborating with DPH staff, the tool’s vendor and end users. End users may include, but are not limited to, local boards of health, public health nurses, EMS, and schools. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of basic public health principles and a passion for digital population health to provide accessible, equitable, and quality vaccinations across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. A desire to learn more about the digital determinants of health and how to apply these concepts to improving training, product, and other resources of the vaccine clinic management platform is a must.
The Project Coordinator will undertake work assignments at the direction of the Program Lead as well as the Manager and/or Director of the unit and will work in collaboration with other functional business units in the immunization division as needed.
Note: This position is based at the MA DPH Bureau of Infectious Disease and Laboratory Sciences (BIDLS) in Jamaica Plain, MA. This is a contract award specific employment arrangement which means employment is provided for the period of the contract (currently through June 2024, with possibility for extension). Authorization to work in the US required. Salary range for the position is $60,000-$75,000. Salary commensurate with experience. This is a telework position that requires the ability to work independently and autonomously. There will be occasional in person meetings at the Department of Public Health in Jamaica Plain, MA and with provider sites located in MA. Any change in work location will be driven by guidance for state employees. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Responsibilities:
- Manage project tasks to ensure on time completion.
- Draft user training materials, newsletters and other appropriate products generated by the project in partnership with the project lead.
- Maintain and update information on the Mass.gov page by working with the DPH communications team.
- Attend select meetings, take notes, capture action items, and ensure follow-up.
- Provide support to create reports, meeting materials, and conduct research.
- Assist in quantitative and qualitative analysis to report on the usage of the platform and to identify areas for improvement.
- Attend product roadmap meetings and provide background research as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with other functional units in the Immunization Division, Bureau, and Department of Public Health.
- Collaborate on other programmatic and IT development tasks as needed.
- Assist with documentation of operating processes as Standard Operating Procedures
- Manage special projects as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
Experience
- Two or more years of professional level experience, with at least one (1) year within a health, public health, or medical setting.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, effectively communicate, and apply critical thinking to navigate and resolve challenges.
- Sufficient technical skills including data analysis (Excel, Tableau) and project management, knowledge of user experience (UX) design and agile development or desire to learn, and experience to assist Program Lead on a digital public health project.
- Facility in learning new technologies and applying them to project work.
- Ability to effectively communicate and provide technical assistance to end users with varying levels of IT experience and knowledge.
- Proficient in working with Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook and Teams; Google, Zoom, and Slack
- Experience working remotely and the ability to own workstreams
- An energetic, self-starter who can work as part of a team with limited supervision.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in public health or a related field
- Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Familiarity with local health departments and the immunization field
- Experience using Excel, Tableau, and/or Power-BI
- Experience with process improvement
Salary commensurate with experience.
