Marriottsville Animal Hospital is an AAHA accredited companion animal veterinary practice located in Howard County, Maryland. We are looking for a motivated and compassionate veterinary assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate should have 1-3 years experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting, however we are willing to train the right person.

Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians and technicians in exams.
• Perform basic medical procedures such as safely restraining animals, taking vital signs, administering medication.
• Assist with x-rays, blood draws, and in-house lab work.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, surgery rooms, and other areas of the clinic.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and their pets.
• Communicate with clients about their pet's care and treatment.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking of supplies.
• Support the overall operation of the clinic as needed.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic animal care and behavior.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and Saturdays as assigned.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
