SimpleVet Pet Hospital, a family owned Veterinary Clinic located at Little Elm/Aubrey area, is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our hospital team. You will partner with/assist managing Veterinarian to provide a best care to each and every patients comes in the clinic. On-site attendance is considered an essential job function of this positions. Our ideal candidate is passionate about pets and their care. Our atmosphere is fun and relaxed while professional and courteous to all our clients. We love saying "Yes" to pets, so we would like to have someone willing to hit the ground running when a client or pet walks in the door.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
• Possession of organizational skills
• Critical thinking – Understanding logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, good judgment and ability to manage stressful situations

Skills should include:

 Recording relevant information about animals, including weight and types of medication given
 Restraining and soothing animals during examinations, treatments, and vaccinations
 Advising owners of pets about caring for their animals at home
 Assisting Veterinarian and other team members with restraint during exam
 Filling prescriptions
 Prepping patient for surgery and Monitoring anesthetized patients
 Sterilizing the equipment
 Assisting with prescription administration, blood drawing, and dental cleaning for patients
 Completing laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging
 Communicating with our veterinarians, clients, and other team members
 Following hospital guidelines, rules, regulations, and policies
 Keeping track of medical records
 Providing compassionate care to hospitalized patients, as well as keeping the patients' cages clean
 Cleaning and organizing treatment spaces, examination rooms, hospital areas, pharmacy, cages, and lab
 Technical know-how in areas such as disinfection, administering medication, and using
diagnostic equipment
 Computer skills to maintain medical records about animals in veterinary software

• Requirements

 Minimum 6M-1Y experience as a veterinary technician role, including customer service experience, surgical assist experience would be preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
