What This Role Is…

As a Vice President of Digital Commerce, the primary function of this position is to oversee City Furniture’s eCommerce strategy to drive sales growth via Cityfurniture.com. This role is responsible for the management and development of eCommerce team, digital experience, and content. This includes managing all aspects of the digital business including, business planning, content strategy and development, online marketing, website design, and ensuring the best digital customer experience. The Vice President of Digital Commerce must be a collaborative leader that is ultimately responsible for driving the overall eCommerce strategy, while partnering with relevant teams across the organization to enhance the online user experience, maximize usability, performance, and ROI.

The Vice President of Digital Commerce stays abreast of industry trends, current and emerging ecommerce, and digital marketing shifts to ensure best in class Customer Experience at all times. This role is responsible for working with all Digital and cross-functional Teams; Sales, IT, Merchandising, Marketing, and Supply Chain to deliver the Digital Strategic Roadmap Plan and to improve sales, engagement, and conversion. This position demonstrates ability to think globally/strategically, frames new and complex issues - a serious thought leader that can make strategic choices and help focus the organization on the most critical and value-added activities while leveraging industry best practices, benchmarking, trends, and competitive intelligence.

The Vice President of Digital Commerce must be an overall inclusive leader with the ability to communicate and relate both up and down the corporate organization.

What You’ll Do…

As a Vice President of Digital Commerce, your primary responsibilities are:

  • Team Management & Growth - Directs and manages teams accountable for daily operations. Oversees and directs the work of Senior Managers, Managers, and their subordinates. Develops and mentors associates through on-boarding, open communication, training and development, opportunities and performance management processes. Builds and maintains associate morale, and motivation. Ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies.
  • Strategy Development and Execution | Competitive Landscape Research – Builds strategies that translate key business challenges and customer needs into digital opportunities. Ensures growth and optimization of consumer awareness, market share and/or specified initiatives. Drives the prioritization of Product Enhancements. Reviews the competitive marketplace and makes recommendations for adjustments to operational and strategic activities based upon identified information and best in class strategies and emerging technologies. Leverages experience and knowledge of industry best practices and supporting technologies to develop an exceptional digital, mobile, and e-Commerce experience for our Customers.
  • Cross Functional – Partners cross-functionally to translate and define business needs for area of responsibility to execute against. Responsible for working with all Digital and cross-functional Teams like Sales, IT, Merchandising, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to deliver the e-commerce channel plan and to improve traffic, engagement, and conversion.
  • Analysis and Reporting - Utilizes strong business analytics and data to find actionable solutions to customer and business issues. Analyzes performance drivers, proactively determines actionable strategy, and then contributes to identifying solutions for mitigation and/or optimization to achieve overall business goals. Provides executive performance summaries to Senior Leadership.
  • Planning & Budgeting – Works alongside the Vice President and Senior Leadership to develop Annual Roadmap plans. Provides thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate. Responsible for all budgeting, forecasting & reporting on key business health metrics.

Additional duties and responsibilities as a Vice President of Digital Commerce:

Financial Transaction Responsibilities
This position is responsible for approving financial transactions and preparing financial transactions for approval by others (i.e., process invoices, etc.).

Decision Making Responsibilities

This role is responsible for decision making and working alongside Senior Leadership to manage all strategic decisions within the Digital department.

What’s Required…

  • Education & Work Experience:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Marketing, Advertising or related field preferred
    • 10+ years of experience with Marketing, E-Commerce or Digital Marketing preferred
  • Work Environment & Schedule:
    • This position is required to work a flexible 50-hour work week, Monday through Friday, in a hybrid – remote/corporate office environment.
    • Travel to corporate office once a week.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Limited light lifting is required upon request.
