The David Crawford School of Engineering of Norwich University invites applications for a two-year appointment for a Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor with enthusiasm for teaching and research in the areas of artificial intelligence and machine learning. The position has been established in support of the newly created Artificial Intelligence Center and will commence July 1st, 2023, with instruction starting in the fall 2023 term. Duties include teaching undergraduate electrical and computer engineering courses, course development, and research with a focus relevant to the Artificial Intelligence Center. Start-up funds and other resources are available to support participation in scholarly endeavors. This position resides within the School of Engineering and collaborates with the Artificial Intelligence Center Director.

Education in engineering at Norwich has a rich tradition dating back to the founding of our institution more than 200 years ago and the David Crawford School of Engineering educates approximately 400 undergraduate students annually. Norwich's diverse residential undergraduate student body includes 2300 campus-based students organized in three colleges.


Job Requirements:


Required Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in electrical and/or computer engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate electrical and computer engineering courses.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching at the undergraduate level in machine learning, operating systems, VLSI, and/or computer networks.
  • Experience with quantum computing.
