Job Title: Vocation and Recreation Mentor (Direct Support Professional)
Location: Eden Prairie
Full Time Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm – No evenings or weekends!
Job Classification: Full-time and Part-time
Hours/Schedule: 40 hours per week (Part Time Available Also)
Pay: $17/$17.50 per hour

Holland Life is a rapidly growing day program that serves young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. Our day program is separated into three divisions:
Vocation: Work readiness guidance and paid work opportunities
Recreation: Participation in leisure activities in the center, and out in the community
Education: Age-appropriate learning, that includes music, art and cooking
Our innovative program is looking to hire an energetic and caring individual to help support our vocation and recreation divisions. As a Vocation and Recreation Mentor (Direct Support Professional), you will work with a group of young adults to develop their work readiness, assist with employment tasks, and promote participation in recreational activities at Holland Life and out in the community.
Vocation and Recreation Mentor Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Encourage participation, teamwork, and cooperation during group activities
· Attend community outings and foster participation in activities such as group bowling, mini golfing, ice fishing, etc.
· Promote social interaction between all clients
· Lead small group recreation activities such as cooking, crafting, etc.
· Help to create a fun, energetic, and beneficial work environment
· Assist the Vocation Guide in developing, organizing, and preparing work for individuals with varying skill levels and needs

Required Qualifications:
· Must have experience working with individuals with ASD, or special needs
· Must be 18 years of age or older
· CPR/AED/First Aid Training (can be completed post-hire)
· Must pass a criminal background check
