Job Description
Reporting directly to the Department Director, Community Relations, the Volunteer/Donor Coordinator is responsible for developing and fostering a strong donor-base to support agency programs and managing all SCCS volunteer activities.

The incumbent in this position will be required to flex their weekly schedule working evenings and weekends to meet the needs of prospective and current SCCS resource families and the agency, as directed by the chain of command.
Education and/or Experience
Associates Degree in Social Services related field required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Two (2) years’ experience working in a social services agency and/or administrative capacity required.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have demonstrated knowledge in all Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access required. Previous experience with large database computer applications and/or State Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS) experienced preferred.

Licensing/Certification
Incumbent must possess a valid State of Ohio drivers’ license with no more than eight (8) points on his/her driving record at any time to drive his/her/their own vehicle and no more than six (6) points to drive an agency vehicle. Incumbent must also possess auto insurance as defined by Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) at all times.
Incumbent must also adhere to agency policies that address these topics.

Incumbent is required to travel to/from Agency meetings within the County and State as directed by his/her chain of command, and as required for job duties. Travel requires the use of a vehicle insured in the incumbent’s name unless a County-owned vehicle is secured pursuant to contract language and/or Agency policy/procedure. Personal vehicles must be in good working order and appropriately accommodate passengers as needed.
Regular attendance is required. Incumbent must adhere to Agency policies regarding use of time off at all times.

Description of Job Duty
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Assists with the development and implementation of various volunteer programs and activities; This includes but is not limited to, communication development (flyers, invitations, advertisement, etc.) as well as attending events; Provides assistance and support to other agency events/initiatives as directed.
Solicits donations, manages volunteer activities, and develops donor partnerships designed to enhance agency programs; Assists in the development and implementation of an agency plan for enhancing relationships with local and regional constituents, including major corporations, non-profits and other potential supporters of various client programs.
Oversees all major community programs including but not limited to Holiday, Back to School, and National Child Abuse Prevention, etc.
Maintains accurate and up to date record keeping for all agency donations; Reports donations appropriately to agency personnel; Ensures that donors receive effecitve and timely communication prior to and following all events.
Responsible for developing volunteer roster to assist the agency in strengthening community relations; Assigns and reviews tasks and responsibilities for volunteers; Trains and evaluates work performance of volunteers.
Serves as the liaison for the agency’s Women’s Auxiliary Board (WAB) and ensures that their events and activities align with the needs of the agency to support children and families served by SCCS.
Collaborates regularly with agency staff to ensure marketing and educational materials are relevant and on point; Proofread all materials before publishing; Provides analysis of volunteer and donor efforts, and refines plans based on results.
Prepares and presents monthly activities and statistics to the Department Director; Attends community and statewide committee meetings as designated by chain of command; Creates and presents project status updates to agency leadership and identifies and removes barriers to success or escalate to leadership, when appropriate.
Assists the Community Relations Department with administrative activities related to the work of the department; Maintains the marketing calendar for all volunteer and donor events/activities; Works with student interns to support donor and volunteer activities.
Assists in all Foster and Adoptive Parent Recruitment efforts as needed/directed, including working evenings and weekends when scheduled; Serves as an agency Ambassador and member of the Speaker’s Bureau; Will be assigned to cover events as needed/directed.
Assists in the planning and development of department budgets; Assists in the maintenance of the divisional budget; Monitors department expenditures and secures approvals as needed; Coordinates services with other agencies; Manages departmental contracts as delegated.
Supports other units/departments as needed; Assists in the orientation/shadowing of agency staff as required by the employee’s chain of command.
Participates in agency wide and community initiatives which support the overall mission of the agency; participates on agency committees where applicable/appropriate.
Attends and participates in supervision meetings as established by the employee’s chain of command and based on the needs of the worker/caseload; Attends and participates in all agency meetings including unit, department, division, and all staff meetings.
Attends trainings as identified by the chain of command regarding child welfare topics as required.
