Summary

Benjamin Moore has an opening for a Warehouse and Infrastructure Engineering Manager in the Corporate Supply Chain group, based out of Flanders NJ. This role is responsible for supporting warehousing/infrastructure projects and by providing a key link between corporate engineering and our manufacturing & warehouse locations. This position supports the expansion, improvement, and maintenance of Benjamin Moore's Supply chain network.

General Requirements / Responsibilities:

  • Well-rounded experience in mechanical engineering, capital projects, and project management.
  • Lead new Distribution Center fit-out projects, as a single point of contact to the Benjamin Moore Distribution team from concept to completion.
  • Lead distribution center improvement and operating projects:
  • Finished goods racking, Stretch wrapper replacement and optimization, Tinting Equipment, E-Commerce, Office and Facilities improvements
  • Identify, develop, and implement new warehouse automation and robotics projects to improve Distribution Center safety and productivity.
  • Labor reductions, Flow improvements, Storage Efficiency, Capacity Improvements
  • Support:
  • Distribution Center requests for project and issue support
  • Manufacturing Center requests for infrastructure, environmental, and utilities support
  • Emergency infrastructure issues across the Supply chain network
  • Serve as a key member of Benjamin Moore's Environmental Sustainability Team
  • Solar Projects
  • Greenhouse gas reduction
  • Electricity, natural gas, and diesel fuel reductions
  • Lead and support other engineering projects when required (processing, automation, packaging)
  • Cultivate relationships with key personnel in the Distribution, Manufacturing, Transportation, Procurement, Corporate Engineering, Information Technology, and Supply Chain leadership groups.
  • Actively support ongoing and new technology projects. Lead coordination of Distribution / Infrastructure master schedule and drive on-schedule / on-specification / on-budget results of all projects
  • Development of Distribution Center and Infrastructure Standards for use across the Supply Chain.
  • Develop a database of Distribution Center capabilities & parameters across all sites
  • Partner with Distributions and Manufacturing to clarify roles, success criteria, and methodology for Distribution and Infrastructure projects.
  • Capture & communicate the learnings from projects and initiatives to drive organizational learning.

What You Bring To The Team:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial preferred.
  • 7+ 10 years of engineering experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment
  • 7+ years of cross-functional coordination, collaboration & leadership with Distribution, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality
  • 7+ years of experience managing complex multi-element projects in the Chemical, CPG, Paint, or similar industry experience preferred
  • Direct experience successfully in mechanical, electrical, solar, and utility projects from concept to completion in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently with strong project management skills
  • Solid problem-solving skills; RCA experience preferred
  • Ability to translate complex technical needs into robust project plans
  • Leads individuals or project teams to achieve milestones and objectives by setting priorities and providing direction
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite & Minitab (or other statistical software packages)
  • Solid ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization
  • Ability and willingness to work in corporate, warehouse, and plant environments
  • Travel required: ~25%
