Würth Baer Supply is searching for a Warehouse Associate with Sit-Down Forklift Experience for our Distribution Center in West Haven, CT. Join our growing and dynamic team and help us in receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping. You will interact with customers when they come to pick up their orders. You will handle customer inquiries and concerns with courtesy, respect, professionalism and a high sense of urgency. Salary based on skills & experience.
Role Responsibilities
- Process orders, locating products, processing returns, on-foot and vehicular order picking
- Rolling and packing 3x3' or 4x4' sheets of thin laminate products into a tube, then plastic wrapping them and boxing them for shipment. This may also include placing longer non-foldable items into shipping tubes and securing them for shipment with necessary dunnage
- Processing outbound orders in LTL shipping area - Fast paced verification of quantities and item condition before loading onto carrier tractor trailers
- Processing inbound delivery receipts - Indicate products on receipt match products delivered, noting damages or quantity discrepancies as needed
- Working in a team environment on a variety of inbound and outbound warehouse duties
- Operating a sit-down forklift and learning to drive other material handling vehicles as needed
- Assist customers with loading their order onto their vehicles
- Assist with general warehouse responsibilities (receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 1+ year of warehouse experience (receiving, picking, packing, shipping, loading/unloading trucks)
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Sit-down forklift experience
Role Characteristics
- Stands for 3 to 4 hours at a time
- Monday-Friday schedule 9:00am-5:30pm
- Overtime is not mandatory, but it is offered to employees on a regular basis

#LI-PF1Wurth Baer Supply is looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor for our distribution operations in Indianapolis, IN.
As a Warehouse Manager, you are responsible for the execution of all the daily activities required to run a highly effective Distribution Warehouse. In this role you will recruit, train, and schedule work hours to support a flexible operations schedule while maintaining strict budgeted headcount and hours control. You will maintain a safe and healthy work environment for your employees by adhering to all OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, and safety regulations and guidelines. You will be accountable for providing 100% customer satisfaction by offering same day shipment and ensure accuracy, proper packaging, and the use of efficient transportation modes. You will also be responsible for all warehouse assets including, but not limited to, inventory accuracy, daily inventory cycle counts and equipment and facility maintenance. You will also ensure employee training and adherence to all Würth Baer Supply’s current processes and practices established for picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and put-away.
This is a hands-on position; you will lead by example by working along side your staff as needed and aim to maximize productivity and accuracy.
Position Responsibilities:
- Utilize weekly benchmark reports, performance posting and goals setting to measure and communicate the results of each department
- Plan daily workloads to ensure on-time customer orders received by 3:00 pm will be 100% shipped the same day or as per the customer’s delivery schedule and prioritize will-call orders to be picked and staged while working towards minimizing picking and shipping errors (Aim for “0 defects” policy)
- Set the standards with the warehouse personnel to drive a customer focused environment.
- Promote and set expectations to deliver quality customer service and to complete tasks within appropriate time frames, including accurate inventory control (achieve an accuracy of 98% or above)
- Establish daily communication with the Sales Managers to discuss any customer issues or problems
- Schedule and complete annual performance reviews, One-on-One quarterly communications, and daily/weekly/monthly meetings to communicate progress and goals.
- Train all warehouse employees on the Würth Baer Supply's Safety program and schedule and execute a monthly facility walk-through, using the monthly Safety and Health Survey
- Provide a safe work environment in compliance with all Federal, State and OSHA regulations.
- Adhere to safety policies, provide training and continued education for the certification and recertification of employees working with powered equipment (Forklifts, Order Pickers, etc.) and Hazardous Material training and certification for all employees involved in the shipment of hazardous goods (as required by CFR 49, sections 100-185)
- Ensure the completion of maintenance for safety and roadworthiness of delivery trucks as well as the training of all drivers to meet DOT and Würth Baer Supply policies regarding transportation of goods
- Provide effective routing of Würth Baer trucks to permit on-time and efficient deliveries and monitor all controllable expenses in adherence of logistic and budgetary constraints for the branch
- Other duties and assignments
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of warehouse management or related field.
- Computer literate, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and familiarization with WMS software; SAP preferred
- Ability to operate a forklift and successfully pass Würth Baer Supply’s forklift certification program.
- Ability to complete and demonstrate the ability to train on Hazardous Material Certification for General Awareness and Familiarization, Function Specific, Safety and Security Training within 90 days of starting employment and complete recurring training every 3 years as outlined in CFR 49, Sections 100 - 185
