UniFirst is currently hiring in different areas of our Production Department in the Cleveland area. In the job description below is a list of various duties that apply to different areas of our Production Department.

Production Floor Stations

• Washroom Operator
• Stockroom Processor
• Truck Unloader & Sorter
• Garment Inspector & Hanger
• Garment Sorter & Shipper
• Linen Bagger & Folder
• Garment Mender
• Garment Inspector & Presser
• Shipping & Mending Lead
• Mat Roller & Order Builder

Job Descriptions & Details:

Washroom Operator

· Operate washing and drying machines

Stockroom Processor

· Order picking, garment grading, inventory, emblem processing, and sewing

Truck Unloader & Sorter

· Unload and weigh soiled products from trucks

· Separate products by type

Garment Inspector & Hanger

· Count and hang garments to be processed through the steam tunnel

· Inspect all items for tears, holes, stains, and damage

Mat Roller & Order Builder

· Bundle, package, and roll articles

Garment Sorter & Shipper

· Prepare garments to be shipped back to customer locations

· Organize garments by route and stop number

Linen Bagger & Folder

· Bundle, package, and bag articles in accordance with company requirements

· Inspect products for holes, tears, stains, and damage.

Garment Mender

· Receive all mending work orders and products requiring mending

· Repair defects in garments as needed using the correct mending procedure in a timely manner

Garment Inspector & Presser

· Press garments on a pressing machine

· Ensure all garments pass the UniFirst 20-point uniform inspection process

Shipping & Mending Lead

· Oversee daily operations and quality in the shipping and mending areas of the plant

· Train and coach team partners on assigned job duties and responsibilities

· Verify and keep records of incoming and outgoing shipments. This includes managing the lot system.

· Oversee outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy and completeness of shipments.

Qualifications

· Ability to read, write, and clearly communicate verbally with Supervisor/Manager

· Ability to stand and walk for an 8-hour shift

· Some individual tasks require heavy lifting, must be able to carry up to 50 lbs

· Lifting requirement varies per position
