WPX is hiring for a full-time warehouse worker in our Portland, OR hub, working Monday through Friday day shift 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM with occasional overtime.

In this active position you will work independently sorting freight, staging freight and offloading driver vehicles while keeping the warehouse clean and safe. You may be the right fit for this position if you are highly motivated, are attentive to details, can work independently and with others as needed, and can lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Job Description

SUMMARY

The warehouse worker is responsible for safely, efficiently and accurately receiving, recording, sorting, storing, and stacking inbound freight and preparing outbound freight. This is an active position - workers must be able to stand on their feet, bend, stoop, climb, reach, push, pull, lift and carry 50 pounds while moving about the warehouse for the majority of their shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely and efficiently receive freight and maintain accurate records
• Accurately sort freight to appropriate destination in a time sensitive situation
• Store freight as required by clients
• Prepare freight for shipment
• Maintain warehouse in a clean and orderly manner
• Establish and maintain courteous business relationships with drivers, customers, clients and co-workers
• Maintain a neat, clean, well-groomed, professional appearance including proper uniform
• Maintain excellent work habits including attendance, punctuality and safety
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and guidelines
• Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Able to stand and walk on feet on cement floor for up to eight (8) hours per day
• Able to bend, stoop, climb, reach, push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 pounds routinely
  
• Able to climb and descend stairs and ladders
  
• Able to count to 200, add, subtract, multiply and divide
• Able to work a flexible schedule - some position may include weekends
• Must be at least 18 years old
• If hired, must be able to:
  
  • pass a drug test prior to first day of work
  • pass a comprehensive background check and motor vehicle record prior to first day of work
  • prove eligibility to work in the United States
  • pass a TSA Security Threat Assessment
