Manage receiving and inventory of all incoming materials physically in warehouse and in an ERP(Ketchie) system. /Unload trucks utilizing RF scanners and computers to track, locate inventory, pull orders of various weights and sizes.
Basic Requirements:
- Must be 18+ years of age.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively, as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.
- Must pass pre-employment testing (Physical Abilities Test)
Preferred Requirements:
- At least 2-3 years facility and warehouse management experience
- 3 months experience operating an electric pallet jack or forklift.
- Previous experience at Meals on Wheels San Francisco or in foodservice industry preferred
- Mechanical Skills – Operating warehouse machinery and equipment calls for receiving managers to possess strong mechanical skills
- Data Entry –adept at entering accurate data for purchase orders, inventory logs, safety reports, and other records
- Computer Skills – Familiarity with inventory software, tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications required
- Communication – Oral and written communication skills are crucial when it comes to placing orders, speaking with suppliers, training warehouse personnel, and submitting inventory reports
- Work Independently – Receiving managers must possess the ability to make quick decisions in fast-paced environments without having to consult superiors.
- Organizational Skills – Keeping an orderly warehouse allows for accuracy in ordering and maintaining supplies

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Director of Fleet and Facilities, and in accordance with the provisions of the MOWSF Employee Handbook, the Receiving Manager will:
- Direct the daily work and safety activities of warehouse associates.
- Works directly with department head, managing direct labor hours and consumable supplies within budget and work schedules including extra workdays and shifts as needed.
- Oversee incoming items that arrive at the facility. Review purchase orders and match received items to those that were ordered, note any discrepancies, document items received, and update inventory database.
- Ensure that all items are properly tagged, labeled, stored, and accounted safely within the warehouse.
- Must be available for occasional nights, weekends and Holidays or when called for an emergency
- Supervise receiving teams to operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move raw goods and supplies to be placed on shelving or stack them properly as required.
- Reviews the management of receiving, shipping, and loading documents, conducts audits daily ensuring all required documentation is accurately completed (including HAACP, food safety documentation) and that material is handled and stored correctly with a minimum potential for loss.
- Suggests efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assists with the implementation of changes within inbound and outbound warehouse operations. Identifies problems, proposes solutions to other members of management and promotes cooperation with other departments.
- Maintains associate relations through regular department or pre-shift meetings; maintains on-going interaction; keeps open communication channels with associates by answering questions and explaining policies and procedures; monitors associate morale; and submits and responds to ideas to improve associate engagement and enablement.
- Interprets trains and consistently enforces Company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate’s efforts to aid in training, conducting associate observations, up-dating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes, and routine safety inspections.
- Makes recommendations for disciplinary action and/or behavior modification where required.
- Performs management functions of staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and/or terminations.
- Performs the duties of associates supervised and other related duties as needed.
- Complies with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, DAAS, FDA, USDA, etc.)
- Maintain and safely operate all assigned equipment, including but not limited to pallet jack, WMS unit and personal protective equipment. Perform pre and post-trip inspections, and safely operate all mechanical equipment
- Attend all required company meetings.
- Other duties may be assigned.

SALARY / HOURS/BENEFITS: $60,000-$70,000 annually. The position is Exempt is scheduled to work a 40-hour work week (Monday –Friday) (with occasional weekends or when called in an emergency). Paid vacation and sick time are offered and stated in the personnel manual. Health and dental insurance are paid by employer. Other optional fringe benefits are available in accordance with MOWSF personnel manual.
