This Warehouse Specialist position is located in Lexington, KY. Applicants must be a US citizen and must have DoD security clearance to apply. The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Work involves most of the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. This worker may operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties

Specific Responsibilities of the Job

• Identifies, examines, classifies, accepts, rejects, and disposes of material

• Possess basic knowledge of inspection/examination procedures for material

• Loads material on and off skids, pallets, stands

• Prepares labels as required

• Prepares reports as required

• Receives data from and input data and other automated systems in performance of duties

• Must have ability to obtain license to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE)

• Performs all other duties as assigned

Physical Environment & Demands
Work requires standing, climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, and sitting, walking and occasionally working in cramped and awkward positions. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Experience:

3 years of experience in related field (Logistics, warehouse) preference to military experience in material handling, supply, distribution, inspection, QA, or related areas

Education

High school diploma or GED required

Security Clearance:

DoD Secret Security clearance required.

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
