In this position, you would utilize your supervisory experience in a high-volume, fast-paced distribution center operation in Reedsburg, WI. You will also enjoy a variety of supervising and coordinating departmental operations in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Responsibilities also include assisting in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts for staffing and equipment needs which includes analysis, recommendations, and requests for new and/or upgraded systems to attain optimum department efficiency.

The Supervisor plays an essential role in facilitating communication from the Manager/Director to the leads and front-line staff in the department. This person must be a positive catalyst for change and a motivator to meet/exceed department goals and objectives. The supervisor must also work closely with other departments and keep the goals of Lands’ End at the forefront of their decisions. This person is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the department, including scheduling, staffing, and budgets.

Position Summary:
  • Analyzes departmental output and contributes to improvements needed for optimum department efficiency.
  • Delegates job assignments to departmental leads and staff.
  • Drive direction and motivation of the departmental team.
  • Develop and execute procedures and programs which promote efficiency of the department.
  • Perform special projects or studies as needed within the department.
  • Promotes standards of company performance in all verbal, written, and behavioral communications.
  • Helps others accept change and communicate the scope of change.
  • Coaches and counsels all department members in areas of performance, as needed. Assists in the handling of performance appraisals, interviews, and assessment forms.
  • Drive the process of disciplining, documenting performance, and counseling, while working with the department lead.
  • Conducts departmental meetings. Participates in company programs and events and encourages departmental participation.
  • Promotes, administers, and acts as a resource of company policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Conduct or ensure proper safety training has been provided for employees, enforce safe work practices, correct and/or escalate unsafe conditions, and conduct appropriate follow-up on employee incidents.
Essential Skills::
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related area (Business Management, Operations Management, etc.) is preferred
• Three or more years prior experience in a leadership role preferred • Strong working knowledge of distribution center operations
  • Excellent communication skills: written, oral, public, and interpersonal.
  • Coaching and counseling experience or class work preferred.
  • Understanding of assessment procedures: performance appraisal process, interpretation, and decision-making related to performance problems, corrective discipline process, career development tools, and evaluation forms.
  • Organized, self-motivated, decisive, objective, positive, takes charge, and supportive of the development of others.
  • Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office products and prefer knowledge of Lands’ End software systems.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent prioritization and organizational skills
