Job description

We are looking for a skilled Welder with an interest in learning the specialized trade of doors frames and hardware. You will be expected to cut and join metals and other materials at our facility and or construction sites. Attention to detail and precision is of high importance to meet expectations and quality. Your job is important to us as it provides versatility and prompt customer satisfaction to compete within our trade. Safety precautions are held to the highest of standards as you will be operating the appropriate equipment and machinery required to perform your job. Certifications are not required as training can and will be provided. Attention to detail, reading and understanding machining sheets, schedules, and itemized material lists will be required. The ideal candidate must be a team player and have the willingness to overcome problems in a team setting. Knowledge of different kinds of material and processes will add to your value as an employee. There are many avenues of growth within the door frame and hardware business; opportunity and growth are up to you.

Responsibilities

• Read measurements to plan layout and procedures
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
• Align components using appropriate tools and jigs
• Weld components using MIG welder in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Skills

• Proven experience as a welder with light gauge steel.
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (MIG etc.)
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves, etc.)
• Attention to detail
• Proficient in English /Spanish is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
