FIRST SHIFT

We are looking for a welder for a recycling center in Trafford, AL.

The welder will safely perform metal working activities including but not limited to job lay out, welding, cutting, fabricating, grinding and painting in structural and nonstructural applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• The welder will operate specified welding equipment to fabricate and perform repairs on new and used solid waste handling equipment.

• The welder will repair and prep equipment for painting including painting assigned equipment.

• The welder will maintain accurate records of services performed.

• The welder will maintain inventory of supplies.

• The welder will maintain clean work area in shop or on job site and any assigned vehicles.

• The welder will assist other shop employees with repairs and duties.

• The welder will inspect and maintain assigned hand tools and equipment to ensure they are in working order, notifying Shop Manager of needed repairs.

• The welder will ensure quality, efficient and safe completion of all repairs.

• The welder will conform in all respects with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all Company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.

• The welder will attend safety and branch meetings.

• The welder will provide basic personal tools such as welding shield, basic hand wrenches, etc.

• The welder will perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• The welder will have a High School Diploma or GED desired.

• The welder will have certification of basic welding skills and/or two years experience in welding/fabricating.

• The welder will have a class A or B CDL desired.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• The welder will have the ability to maintain continuous mental and visual attention.

• The welder will have the ability to communicate in writing and verbally with others

• The welder will have the ability to follow instructions and work under limited supervision.

• The welder will have the ability to regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.

• The welder will have the ability to work in usually loud conditions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
