Currently, were actively looking to contract multiple Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) to provide IEP advisement and Student Speech Services for a 6-12 SES Student Support School in Illinois. This school is a community lifeline for students that struggle to succeed in traditional school settings.

School administration is willing to contract individuals with immediate availability, Summer 2023 availability, and 23/24 School Year Availability. (In order to contract for Summer 2023, you would need to sign on for the 23/24 School Year as well, for continuity of services for your assigned caseload.

These are full-time, 40 hours per week 1099 Contracted Roles.

Position Summary:The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive educational, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to students with speech and language deficiencies. Speech and Language Pathologists perform work at either the itinerant, resource room, or full-time classroom level. Work involves using a variety of instructional techniques and/or therapeutic strategies to enhance the students educational process. Additionally, work involves participating in the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) process of student evaluation and individual education plan (IEP) development.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Duties:

  • Uses techniques and materials to enhance the students academic abilities
  • Diagnoses speech/language problems utilizing a variety of testing tools
  • Conducts formal and informal assessments
  • Provides language and speech therapy to students with speech/language problems such as delayed speech and language, stuttering, voice disorders, and functional and organic articulation disorders
  • Determines and implements the appropriate therapeutic programs
  • Participates in the MDT process of students evaluation
  • Assists in the development of the IEP, monitors student progress in meeting objectives and goals of the IEP
  • Provides support to both the teacher and the student during the instructional process
  • Counsels families to assist in the process of alleviating speech and language disorders

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from an accredited College or University
  • Illinois SLP License
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years working independently in a school setting
  • Previous remote experience as a Speech Pathologist performing Initial and Re-Evaluations, Assessments, Direct Therapy and IEP services.
