Radiologic Technologist

Houston and Surrounding Areas.

Base Rate: $45+ An Hour.

Overtime Rate: $67.50+ An Hour.

Summary:
We are adding CT/Rad Techs to our portal to be able to work on-demand shifts that matches their weekly schedule. The CT/Rad Tech will be a contractor who'll pick up shifts at big hospitals and ERs. Their is no commitment with minimum number of hours. The Rad Tech will not be capped on overtime and can pick up shifts at multiple hospitals during the week. Simply, work when you are available!

Responsibilities:
  • This position performs radiography (x-ray) examinations to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  • Performs CT scans on patients: Prepares patients for CT scan, explains procedure, administers contrast when necessary, positions patients for the CT scan, selects appropriate imaging techniques, and ensures technical quality of the scan.
  • Accurate documentation of Laboratory testing, critical values, and communications.
  • Initiation of intravenous access with physician’s order and obtains specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Maintains accurate patient log for CT, x-ray, and ultrasound.
  • Performs all daily lab and equipment checks for quality assurance.
  • Maintains the facility in clean working order in accordance with OSHA and reports any equipment failure or deficiencies to the Nurse Manager Accurately documents any incidents and reports them to the Nurse Manager and Physician on duty.
  • Uses Biohazard containers correctly.
  • Empties sharps containers in a safe and timely manner.
  • May be required to work holidays and weekends as needed Performs duties in a fast-paced emergency room.
  • Perform some exams in more complex modalities.
  • Performs radiography (x-ray) exams on patients ensuring compliance with all radiation safety procedures: Prepares patients for exam, obtains and records patient’s vital signs, explains procedure, administers IV and contrast when necessary, positions patients for the exam, selects appropriate imaging techniques, and ensures technical quality of the images.
  • Enters and monitors patient data.
  • Performs quality assurance on radiology equipment.
  • Identifies and reports any accidents, complaints or equipment malfunction to department management.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to our client’s policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization.
Requirements:
  • Graduated of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • BLS Certification.
  • Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions.
  • May administer breath alcohol test and/or urine drug screens.
