Yard Technician

General Information:

Title: Yard Technician

Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Location/Site: Carlsbad, New Mexico

Hours: Monday Friday, 8:00 am 5:00 pm

Pay: Bi-Weekly

Reports to: Area Operations Manager

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Position Overview:

The Yard Technician serves primarily as the company's designated technician related to WaterFleets equipment yard. The primary functions of this role include testing, preparing, maintaining, cleaning, and organizing all of WaterFleets equipment at the main facility, as well as the appearance of the yard and shop. The Yard Technician is tasked with using all available training and skills to provide timely, accurate, and thorough services to the company.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains prescribed yard organization and appearance
• Works with other employees to ensure returned equipment is sorted and processed into properly designated areas of the yard
• Tests and validates performance and functionality of equipment
• Maintains organization of tested and untested equipment
• Ensures field employees have access to functioning equipment at all times
• Performs other related duties as needed by the company
• Consistently takes initiative to stay busy and provide value to the company

Requirements:

• High School Grad; or GED
• Ability to work in an outside environment; cold and hot weather
• Able to lift up to 45 pounds on a regular basis
• Excellent organizational skills
• Acceptable background check, clear of DWI convictions, for the last 5 years
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record (no more than 3 moving violations in previous 3 years)
• Maintain respectable appearance professional demeanor
• English language skills, oral and written. Must respond both orally and in writing to a variety of outside entities including clients, representatives and co-workers

Qualifications:

• Forklift certification (Company will certify if this is not already obtained)
• Experience working in a shop or yard
• Ability to use basic hand/power tools for installation and maintenance purposes
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment with ability to change direction based on both internal and external needs

Supervisory Responsibility:

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
