Lead Security Installation Technician

Summary
A Lead Technician is a working “Lead” member of a project team. The Lead Security Tech will be responsible for communicating effectively to coordinate operations and oversee workers at job sites. As the point of reference for both workers and supervisors, you will be a key person for the completion of a project. You be working alongside your team members to troubleshoot, install, repair, and maintain access control systems, electronic key systems, locking devices, visitor management systems, IP video surveillance, and any other hardware related to those systems and devices productively and safely.

Major Roles and Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit reports as required
• Install, maintain, and repair locking devices and related hardware on all doors, including low voltage electric door hardware
• Install, maintain, and repair video surveillance systems including cameras, software, and peripheral devices
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on alarm, access, and video systems
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair access control, alarm, and video systems and all related components
• Program alarm systems, access systems, and IP video surveillance systems
• Ensure departmental daily records are maintained and accurate
• Adequately train Technicians to complete all the tasks and responsibilities of their positions
• Assists in developing Technicians to complete all the tasks and responsibilities of a Lead Technician
• Monitor job expenditures
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
• Maintain a satisfactory compliance with customer

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent (vocational/technical/business school background is strongly preferred)
• Must have a minimum of one year of experience in the security field
• Experience with low voltage wiring and knowledge of the aspects of security equipment (cameras, mag-locks, panels, etc.) installation
• Good understanding of strike wire, data cabling, connectors, door contacts, hardware, and installation of cameras and software
• Must have five years of experience in access control
• Must have experience using test equipment
• Must understand the fundamentals of electricity including relay logic circuits
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must possess the ability to read blueprints and hear tones and audio from test and operational equipment
• Good judgment is required
• Strong organizational skills are required
• Exceptional customer service skills are a must

Additional Notes

• Probationary period of 90 days
• Individual must be able to read and understand instructions in English as well as possess good oral and written communication skills
• Individual must be able to pass a drug screen as well as a background investigation
• Individual must be available to work variable hours
• Prime will cover travel expenses including hotel, flight and/or rental vehicle and will provide a daily per diem rate when overnight travel is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

• 25% (Required)
