We provide senior leadership and boards with strategic reputation risk management counsel to protect and enable the organization’s reputation. The support ranges across the crisis lifecycle – from preparedness to engagement and recovery. This can include assessments of a client’s vulnerabilities and capability to immersive crisis training and rapid-response crisis management. We help organizations identify threats to reputation and the bottom line, mitigate risk, manage issues and maximize crisis preparedness.
There is never a dull moment in Crisis and Risk so if you enjoy working in a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable business environment, then this is for you.

The ideal candidate will have issues and/or crisis management experience. This individual must also be willing to grow as an account leader who can play an active role in strategically driving crisis and reputation risk account work.
Responsibilities:
- Think critically and provide solutions to help our clients navigate their most pressing reputational and business risks.
- Lead development of crisis communications playbooks and scenario plans.
- Lead development of content for crisis simulations and assist in facilitating simulations and other training exercises.
- Serve as daily client contact and act as client lead when appropriate; address client issues thoughtfully and effectively.
- Demonstrate strong research skills to help clients form response strategy and POV on hot-button issues.
- Demonstrate general knowledge of social media management and listening tools, as well as basic principles of community management.
- Demonstrate tactical proficiency in media relations and understanding of current media environment.
- Participate in new business process including research and proposal preparation.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the differences in writing styles depending on the outlet, channel and audience (online, social network, traditional media, etc.).
- Provide client service administration support; attend meetings, handle scheduling, logistics and provide billing support.
- Manage up and work closely with senior staff for project management and delivery.
- Commit to continuous learning through client engagements, Edelman Learning Institute and other training and development opportunities.
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman’s values (Quality, Integrity, Respect, Entrepreneurial Spirit, Mutual Benefits) and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.

- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:

- Must have interest in crisis and risk reputation risk management
- Positive, collaborative attitude
- Strong organizational, scheduling, and time/project management skills; possess the ability to multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Superior verbal communication skills
- Must demonstrate excellent writing abilities
$67,000 - $94,000 a year
An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs.
